Christopher "Chris" M. Butler

Christopher “Chris” Michael Butler 51, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his residence. Chris was born to James Buford Butler and Frances Jeannette Butler on February 27, 1972, the youngest of 3 children. He was a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and a member of the Cloverdale Methodist Church. Chris enjoyed military history, shooting sports, hunting, fishing and cooking what he brought home from hunting and fishing. He was a self-proclaimed “grill master,” and loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 12-2 p.m. at Cloverdale Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church with Dennis Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in the Cloverdale Church of Christ Cemetery.

Chris was preceded in death by his parents, James and Frances Butler; and sister, Katrinka “Tink” Townsend.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Monica Butler; son, Bren Butler; daughter, Hannah McClee and husband Anthony; son, Trey Butler; son, Ryan Butler; daughter, Wendy Butler; sister, Elise Grisham; and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Bren Butler, Trey Butler, Ryan Butler, Steven Price, Anthony McClee, and Seth Hunt.
