Chester Freeman Watkins

Chester Freeman Watkins, 88, passed away March 13, 2023, at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home. Mr. Watkins was self-employed.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 22, 2023 from 11-1 p.m. at Faith Church with the funeral service following at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Officiating will be Bro. Henry Melton and Bro. Doc Shell. Arrangements are by Greenview Funeral Home.

Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his parents Clifton and Maudie Fields Watkins; his wife of 15 years, June Watkins; his wife of 49 years, Barbara Watkins; sister Betty Jeffries.

He is survived by sons, Chip Watkins and Chuck (Judy) McKinney; daughters, Regina (David) Mathis and Pam (Craig) Bush; grandchildren, Molly Mathis, Ryan McKinney, Katie Threet, Whitney McKinney, Alicia Threet, Ty Threet, Caleb Caperton, and Christopher Caperton, and many great-grandchildren.

Honorary Pallbearers are Johnny Wilson, Mike Adams, Gene Richey, Mike Curtis, Tom Bean, and Hillard Matthews.

He owned Fun Land Water Park for years, so if you ever went there you probably met him. He never met a stranger and loved sharing his testimony with everyone he met. He loved the Lord and his family. If you ever met him, you would always remember him. He had a bigger than life personality and wit to match.
