Buford Lee Durham, Jr.

Buford Lee Durham, Jr. 70, of Florence, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, peacefully at his home.  He was retired from UNA with 25 years, and he worked many years at Chisholm Hills Church. Buford was a longtime member of Chisholm Hills Church of Christ.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.  The funeral will be Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Chisholm Hills Church of Christ.  Burial will follow at Pine Hill Church of Christ Cemetery.  Officiating will be Sonny Owens.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Parker, Marc Parker, Jason Durham, Logan Durham, Danny Hill, and Mack Parker.

Buford enjoyed fishing, playing chess and cards with his grandson.  He liked watching The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, and westerns.  Buford could always be seen drinking coffee anywhere he could get a cup. He always had a smile and love to cut-up with everyone he met.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jo Durham; parents, Buford and Gladys Durham; brothers, Tommy, J. W., Sammy, and baby brother, Jimmy; and sister, Barbara Bolden.

Buford is survived by daughter, Beverley Parker (Marcus), step-daughters, Shelia Sledge (John) and Sharon Carter; grandchildren, Marc Parker, Brandon Purser, Breanna Bennett, Leslie and Sarah Beth Sledge; several great grandchildren; sister, Kathy Horton; and several nieces and nephews.
