Bettye Ruth (Gray) Thomas

Bettye Ruth Thomas, 84, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on September 5, 2025.  Her visitation will be on Monday from 1:30 until 2:00 at Greenview Funeral Home.  Her Celebration of Life will follow in the chapel of the funeral home.  Entombment will follow in Love Mausoleum.  Officiating will be Troy Gray, and Leigh Ann Thomas.  

Bettye is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Robert Thomas; parents, Bill and Catherine Gray; and brother, Billy Ray Gray.

She is survived by her sister, June Thomas, brother, Travis Gray, nieces and nephews, and her special niece and nephew, Dave and Leann Thomas, her furbabies, Mrs. Kitty, Squeaky and Misty, and to her special friend, Mark Sharp.  

During her long nursing career, Bettye lovingly served people and touched many lives. Bettye and Bob were longtime supporters of the St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD.    

The family offers special thanks to Elder Care Home Health and Hospice of North Alabama.  

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.  

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the charity of choice.
