Bettye Pearson-Whitten

Bettye Pearson-Whitten (Mimi) of Florence, AL, passed away on June 14, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 30, 1927, Mimi spent 96 wonderful years spreading joy and love to any and all around her. A comfort to many and a joy to all, most of her time was spent taking care of her family, her friends, and just about anyone that crossed her path. 

Mimi is survived by her children, Mike Whitten, Marsha Russell, David Whitten, Steve Whitten, Greg Whitten; spouses Sandy Whitten, Linda Whitten; grandchildren, Leslie Whitten, Michael Whitten, Sarah Whitten, John Baker Whitten, Scott Russell, Ginna Russell, Ashley Russell, Kinsey Russell, Brian Whitten, Mark Whitten, Matt Whitten, Josh Whitten, Caroline Whitten, John Whitten; 30 great-grandchildren; and countless friends. Mimi was predeceased by her parents, Alston Pearson and Jane Epperson-Pearson; husband, L.L. Whitten; and sister, Charlotte Warren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Grace House Church, 389 Seville St., Florence, AL 35634. Immediately following the Celebration of Life, there will be a graveside gathering for the family at Greenview Memorial Park, Florence, AL.
