Barbara Jean Corbett-Collins, 89, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025, at her home. Barbara went to be with the Lord to claim her mansion prepared for her.
Barbara was a native of Lauderdale County, a member of Grace Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher and pianist for many years. She loved her church family and was proud to be a part of the fellowship. Barbara loved her family and step-family and always enjoyed time spent with them.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 9-11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be Tommy Ruple and Murray Renfro.
Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, James Corbett; mother, Lessie Barclay; two brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by her husband, James Collins; her sons, James Casey Corbett (Hugh Moore) and Andy Corbett (Sharon); daughter-in-law, Becky Corbett; grandchildren, Travis (Anna), Ethan (Bethany), Liz, Jackson, and Elijah; great grandchild, Josie; step-family, Kay Foster (Frank), Butch Collins (Lydia), Debbie Collins, Lisa Hamlin (David); much-loved nieces and nephews; and many friends and loved ones.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health and Hospice, with a special thanks to Aston and Erica. Also, we would like to thank Dr Kyei (Chay) and the 5th and 2nd floor nurses and care partners at NAMC, with a special thanks to Erika on the 5th floor.
Pallbearers will be Travis Corbett, Ethan Corbett, Jackson Corbett, Mark White, Eddie Chism, and Jon Burgess.
Honorary pallbearers are Elijah Corbett, David Hamlin, Butch Collins, and Don Wade.
