Andrea Michelle Cox

Andrea Michelle Cox of Rhodesville, AL, passed away on February 18, 2025.  She is survived by her parents, Patricia Moore Cox of Rhodesville and Andre Cox of Florence.  She is also survived by her children, Destiny and Blake Johnson of Florence; special nieces and nephew, Makynlee Cox, Brinlee McLaughlin, and Ashton Goodloe; and sisters, Leigh Ann Cox, Ashley Clanton, Jill Mitchell (Kevin) of Florence. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Tootsie and Robert Moore of Florence, and paternal grandparents, Betty and Douglas Cox of Florence.

As a young girl, Andrea had a passion for dance and spent many of her young years both studying and teaching dance at Laura’s Studio of Performing Arts.

Andrea participated in many school activities and especially enjoyed being a cheerleader.  Her popularity earned her honor as Homecoming Queen her senior year at Central High School.

Andrea has had several jobs and has made strides toward a college degree by taking on-line classes.

Andrea enjoyed people and had a big heart.  She was always eager to help anyone in need and loved everyone she met.

Like most of us Andrea struggled with her difficulties but she had her angel wings also.  She asked Jesus to be her Lord and Savior at a young age and followed in believer's baptism and became a member of Underwood Baptist Church.  She has never minded sharing her faith even through her struggles.  It is comforting for the family to know Andrea is in the arms of Jesus and we will see her again.

Visitation will be Monday, February 24, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park with Brother Trey Mitchell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Cory Darby, Kevin Mitchell, Gabriel Moore, Sterling Moore, Heath Perkins, and Ashton Goodloe.
