Alver Hancock

Funeral Services for Alver Hancock, 94, of Florence, will be 1PM, Monday, August 21, 2023, at Greenview Funeral Home Chapel.  Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM prior to the service.  Brother Danny Young will officiate the service.  The interment will follow in the Greenview Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Hancock was born January 26, 1929 to Florence Winn & Rox Ann Hancock.  He passed from this life on August 18, 2023 at his residence.  He was a truck driver and a member of Central Heights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wynell Hancock; son-in-law, Charlie Peters; grandson, John Sterling Hancock; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Hancock is survived by his sons, Alver Terell Hancock of Decatur, Alabama and Preston Lynn Hancock of Waterloo, Alabama; his daughter, Teresa Peters of Toney, Alabama; grandchildren, Danielle Peters Kelly, Brianna Peters, Nathan Hancock, Brandon Hancock; great grandchildren, Blayden & Delilah Kelley, Mia Peters, Charli Cobb, Luna Peters, CataBrie Hancock.

Pallbearers will be Jason Puller, Brandon Hancock, Mike Parrish, Jonathan Davis, Tommy Briggs.  Honorary Pallbearer will be Jerry McGee.
