Aaron Fay Wright, 90, of Florence, passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at his home. He was a retired grocery manager and a member of the Lone Cedar Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Love Mausoleum in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating will be Tim Tubbs.
Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Edith Wright; and his wife of 60 years, Imogene “Jean” Wright.
He is survived by his son, Steven Wright (Lisa), Florence; daughter, Vicky Tubbs (Tim), Killen; brother, Donald Ralph Wright, Flint, MI; sister, Kay Cameron (Charlie), Grand Blanc, MI; grandchildren, Chad Tubbs (Mary), Scott Tubbs (Kara), Savannah Albright (Garret), Misty Moody (Nick), Haley Momic; great grandchildren, Ella and Cooper Tubbs, Maverick and Willa Albright, Breckin and Kyler Moody, Mia Gilchrist, and Mattie Jarrett.
Aaron was a hard-working man and a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He went to work at the age of 15 at Liberty Supermarket and worked there for 26 years, until it closed. Then he worked at Big Star Supermarkets until he retired at age 70. He then worked at Food World Supermarket part-time for 10 years. After leaving Food World, he worked part-time for the City of Florence for 10 years, cleaning Pine Street and Court Street.
He was known by his grandkids and great grandkids as “Pops”.
Aaron will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers will be David Gist, Allen Gist, Chad Tubbs, Scott Tubbs, Charlie Cameron, and David Liles.
Honorary pallbearers are Marshall Mitchell, Don Gist, Steve Churchwell, Jimmy Moomaw, Donnie Bretherick, Garret Albright, Nick Gist, Nick Moody, Jordan Gist, Ralph Wright, and Jordan Barrett.
Aaron was an avid ALABAMA football fan. The family requests, on his behalf, those attending his service to wear Alabama attire.
