Ruth Trousdale Hamilton

Ruth Trousdale Hamilton, 89, of Florence, passed away on March 31, 2018 at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehab Center. She attended Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ for 59 years. She loved her church and was an active member until 2016. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Mutual Savings Life Insurance for 37 years.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 9-11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with David Webb and Chip Posey officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Rogersville, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Barbee Hamilton; parents, Ben and Pearl Trousdale; sisters, Lela Trousdale, Ludie Warren and Millinea Edwards; brothers, Roland Trousdale, Roy Trousdale, Henry Trousdale and James Trousdale.

Survivors include her daughters, Jeannie Calvarese (John), Debbie McFall (Johnny) and Renae Shannon; brothers-in-law, John Hamilton and Paul Edwards; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Hamilton, Ruth Davis and Frances Andrew; grandchildren, Benjamin Bowling (Mary), Cory Shannon (Drew), Austin Shannon, Charlie Shannon (Brittany), John Calvarese, III (Shana), and Jennifer Cox (Clint); great-grandchildren, Bailey, Emma, and Sam Bowling, Ava and Sophia Calvarese and Evan and Nathan Cox and many nieces and nephews. 

Her family will miss her greatly. We can rejoice, however, knowing that she will have a new body and be reunited with our precious daddy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Bowling, Cory Shannon, Austin Shannon, Charlie Shannon, Bailey Bowling and Sam Bowling.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gavin Trousdale, David Warren, Roy Mac Trousdale and Dee Spencer.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorials to the Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ Building Fund.

The family would like to express their love to Viola Hainley, Janice Richardson, and Linda Haddock for their love and friendship to our mother. 

We would also like to thank Dr. Danny McFall, Mallory and Lindsey of North Alabama Hospice and to the staff at Mitchell Hollingsworth on Station two. You truly are angels on this earth!
