Oscar E. Easley, 78, of Florence, passed away August 23, 2017. Oscar was born October 10, 1938 in Hardin County, TN to James and Cammie Easley. He was a member of Mars Hill Church of Christ; Florence Lion’s Club; and UNA Sportsman’s Club. He started working as a machinist at Reynolds in 1963. He was an avid knife collector and salesman for over 35 years. People always said that he was “a unique man”. He was Margaret’s “Rock”.
The family will receive friends Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 11-1 p.m. at Mars Hill Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the church with Chris Moran and Bill Bagents officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mr. Easley was preceded in death by his parents; infant son; and granddaughter, Kristin Ilardi.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret Gresham Easley; daughters, Diane Easley Ilardi and husband Mike, and Susan Easley; grandson, Michael Ilardi of whom he was very proud ; brothers, Robert and Jerry Easley; sisters, Joyce Tucker and Elizabeth Rubery; and many nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will include: Bill Collier, Jim Frost, Larry Baker, Travis Curtis, Buddy Armstrong, and Mack Blalock.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Alexander, a close personal friend, and Florence Lion’s Club members.
