Nell Blankinship Obituary

Nell Berry Blankinship, long-time Shoals resident, died October 18, 2018 after a brief stay at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home.

Nell was born September 27, 1923, in Russellville. She was a member of Sherrod Avenue Church of Christ. She is a graduate of Sheffield High School and Larimore Business College. Nell retired from TVA Employment Office in 1984 after 27 years’ service. She and her husband, William James Blankinship, celebrated 69 years of marriage before his passing in 2011.

Nell is survived by three daughters, Jean (Van) Smelser, Tuscaloosa; Anne (Chris) Gingles, Nashville; and Barbara (Philip) Williams, Florence. She also leaves four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
