Mike lived a good life. He struggled to survive, and help others survive, through the brutal clashes of nations and ideologies that most men just read about. His heart and love for his fellow countrymen was boundless. That love was returned to him by those that knew him.

My brothers and Mike and Leon were best friends growing up

They met at the Creek fly fishing I believe with they were 12 or so.
They were in Vietnam together and remained friends till this day.

I still love hearing all the stories about them together.

Three generations of my family are friends with Mike and Leon. I met him when I was four.
He was a terrific person who lit up a room.
I am deeply saddened by his loss and will be praying for Phyllis, Leon, Jan and all the children and Grandchildren tomorrow for the funeral.
Rest in Peace Mike.
