Mary Vess Obituary
Mary Kathryn Vess, 82, of Florence, passed August 6, 2018 at her daughter’s residence. She was a member of Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ. Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous woman for her price is far above rubies.”
Visitation will be Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will include: Matt Irons, J.D. McCay, Donnie Bevis, Tim Bevis, Kyle Wood, and Anthony Watkins.
Lane McCay, Wyatt Irons, W.J. Hall, Nolen Burns, Dr. Mann, and the Sunday School Class of Hendrix Chapel will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mrs. Vess was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Vess; parents, J.W. and Ada Bevis; a baby girl; brothers, J.W., David, and Jim Bevis; 3 half-sisters; and 1 half-brother.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Irons (Steve) of Florence; grandchildren, Stephanie McCay (J.D.) of Florence, and Matt Irons of Iron City, TN; and great-grandchildren, Lane McCay, Wyatt Irons, and Cora Grace Irons.
