Lizzie Mae Skipworth, 81, of Florence, passed away August 23, 2017. She was a member of Valley View House of Prayer.
Visitation will be Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church with Brother Larry Burbank and Brother Paul Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan Cemetery.
Mrs. Skipworth was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis M. Skipworth; son, Booter Skipworth; grandsons, David and Chad Wood; brothers, Shaler, Tommy Lee, R.L., John Dee, Mitchell, and Reeder Lanier; sisters, Eloyce Haraway, and Ludie Fleming.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Lynn Wood (Sam), Nancy Wood (Buck), Sandra Gibson (James), Martha Whitten (Clifford), Peggy Webb (Randel), and Tina Hill (Billy); a special daughter-in-law, Paula Skipworth; brother, Jesse Lanier; sister, Ruby Miller; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will include: Regie Wood, Daniel Wood, Jeff Wood, Jesse Gibson, B.J. Skipworth, Matt Skipworth, Jeremy Skipworth, Ryan Webb, Joshua Hill, and Caleb Hill.
Honorary pallbearers will be Blake Russell, Dakota Russell, Luke Wood, Haden Price, T.J. Tingle, Noah Gibson, Cohen Gibson, Jake Skipworth, and Ty Skipworth.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Tennessee Valley, Dr. Mitch Bowen and his nurse Cindy, Dr. Rhuland, Amedisys Home Health, very special neighbors, Coy and Sonya Kelley, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Darwin. Mother loved you all very much and all your kindness and love to her was very much appreciated. Everything you all have done will never be forgotten; thank you so much.
