My heart goes out to Joann, Laura Beth ,Jennifer and their families.Lendon was a great man and was always talking about his family. He was the most selfless person I have ever known. He would do anything for anyone. He has helped many young farmers in the area to get established. He has loaned his time , experience and equipment to anyone who needed it. He was often under appreciated and his kindness taken advantage of but he remained kind and giving. His kindness was like any I know. Prayers to all he left behind.

I went to Central in the 7th grade and met Lendon. He was a good, kind hearted man. He and Gale tried working at the Florence Police Department but they both went other ways. Jo Ann, we are so sad for you and the girls. Please know that we will be praying for you in the days ahead that God will bless you and give you peace.

Today, as I reflect back on my association with Lendon, I would like to say that my thoughts and heartfelt prayers go out for Lendon, his family, and other friends.

I first met Lendon in 1973 when I joined the Florence Police Department. I became one of Anderson's midnight shift ("From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered-We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...").

The conditions were busy, and full of sometimes violent miscreants. Whether I was working with him, or in an adjacent zone, I always knew that I could count of him as my back-up. He was reliable, able, and rock solid.

Since learning of his passing, I have recounted many of our experiences which give me pause, much reflection, and smiles.

Please know this, Lendon was/is a good man; I shall miss my friend; and I thank God for the privilege of knowing him.

Lendon and I went to Central together all 12 years. We had lots of fun times and laughs. He will truly be missed by all. May God be with your family and give each of you extra strength at this time. Love and prayers to you all.
