James Hugh Patterson, Jr., 87 of Cloverdale, passed away June 5, 2019. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church; IBEW Local # 558; the American Legion; and served his Country in the United States Army in the Korean war.
Visitation will be Friday, June 7, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the church with Father Roy Runkle officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
Mr. Patterson was preceded in death by his parents, James and Julia Ann Patterson.
He is survived by his wife, Delores Beavers Patterson; special daughters, Mona Thigpen (Terry) of Killen, and Melinda McKinney (Randall) of Florence; nephews, Waymon Herston (Carolyn), Josh Schmidlkofer (Sarah) all of Florence; Goddaughter, Mary Nell Krieger of Florence; nieces, Wendy Schmidlkofer of Florence, and Sara Reid (Roger) of Arlington, TN; sisters, Catherine Schmidlkofer, and Mary Ann Herston both of Florence; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Active pallbearers will be Randall McKinney, Clay McKinney, Rodney Beavers, Tyler Thigpen, Josh Schmidlkofer, and Waymon Herston.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Charlie Bates, Troy Burgess, Terry Thigpen, David Berryman, Tommy Peters, Howard Miller, Henry Blanke, and Dan Beavers, Sr.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. McFall, Dr. Heaton, Dr. Morris, and the nursing staff on the 5th floor of North Alabama Medical Center.
