James Couch Obituary

James Leslie (Butch) Couch of Florence passed away at his home after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 25, 2018.

Mr. Couch is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin (Red) Couch and Lorene Couch of Florence. He is survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Scott, of Florence, nephews, Les Scott (Anna) and Brent Scott (Beth), niece, Maggie Scott Butler (Chris) and his close friends, Cody, Amy, and Heidi Lynn Petty.

Butch was a graduate of Mars Hill Bible School and the University of North Alabama. Prior to retirement, he was a teacher of English and History at Wilson High School where he was beloved my many students and families.

A private service for family will take place at the home of the deceased.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to the Wilson School PTO.
