H. Delbert Knight

H. Delbert Knight, 86, of Florence, passed away on November 07, 2017 at Glenwood Nursing Home.  He retired from Occidental Chemical and served our nation in the United States Army.  He also served as an elder at Mars Hill Church of Christ and on the Board of Directors at UNA Christian Student Center. He was a member of the UNA Sportsman Club and the Civitan Club.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Thursday, November 09, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Chris Moran and Bill Bagents. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Knight and Ethel Adell McCrary Knight.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Price Knight; daughter, Joan Barrett (Chuck); brother, Danny Knight(Robbie); grandchildren, Amy Azbell (Lee Nelson), Tara Johnston (Bill), Sabrina Smith (Dave), Jeff Barrett (Kate), Jennifer Easley (Darrell) and Jamie Castle (Chandler); 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Bill Johnston, Dylan Johnston, David Smith, Cody Partain, Gannon Gann and Lee Nelson.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the Mars Hill Church of Christ.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Danny McFall and the nurses of Hospice of the Shoals and Glenwood Nursing Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
