It is with heavy hearts that the family of Elizabeth Anne Wilson Erwin of Madison, Alabama announces her passing on December 9, 2018 at the age of 70 following a long and courageous battle with illness. She is survived by the love of her life, her husband Charles, with whom she celebrated 53 years of marriage as well as two children – Tommy (Lori) Erwin of Madison, AL and April (Chris) Nesin of Chattanooga, TN. Her greatest joy was being called “grammy” by her two grandchildren, Jake and Effie.
Anne was born in Florence, Alabama to the late Virgil and Effie Wilson. She is survived by her four sisters, Brenda (Don) Simpson, Sharon (Lesley) Rutherford, Amanda Mann, and Kathy (Jerry) Crittenden and preceded in death by her brother, HT (Alisha) Wilson. She was a long time active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha as part of her philanthropic heart. She was also active in the Madison Historical Preservation Society. She attended Madison United Methodist Church.
To know Anne was to know her courage, tenacity, perseverance, caring nature and deep unconditional love. She was proud of her family and loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed camping, traveling, quilting and crocheting. Her presence on this earth made a difference in the lives of many and her legacy will be the love that everyone felt.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, December 13, 2018 from 12-2pm before a funeral service at 2pm at Greenview Funeral Home in Florence, AL.
