Eldon T. DeFoor

Eldon T. DeFoor, 95, of Florence passed away December 30, 2018.  He was born November 25, 1923 in Winston County, Alabama.  He was the son of H.C. and Carrie DeFoor.  In 1946, he married his sweetheart, Eula Mae Ingle, also of Winston County.

  As a young couple, they made their home in Birmingham.  Eldon was a hard worker who took pride in his work and in providing for his family.  He retired from Baker and Sons Dairy.  In 2009, the DeFoors moved to Florence to be near their children and grandchildren.  He was a member of Helton Drive Church of Christ.

     He is survived by his wife of nearly 73 years, Eula DeFoor; his daughter, Martha Sneed (Bob) and his son Barry DeFoor (Kathy); his grandchildren, Patrick Sneed (Kelly), Whitney Sneed Schrimsher (Jeremy), Allison Sneed Morris (Lee), Katie DeFoor Persell (Eric), and David DeFoor; his 13 great-grandchildren who all loved their Pappaw; his sisters, Era Martin, Nettie Kilpatrick (Ben), and Doris Lillard; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

     He was preceded in death by his parents, H.C. and Carrie DeFoor; his brother, Kermit DeFoor; and his sisters, L.V. Cagle and Verna Jacks.

     Visitation will be held Thursday, January 3 from noon until 2:00 with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Memorial.  Bill Hall, Wylie Deason, and Patrick Sneed will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include David DeFoor, Larry Hall, Daniel Morris, Landon Morris, Lee Morris, Eric Persell, Jackson Sneed, and Samuel Sneed along with honorary pallbearers Owen Morris, Nolan Schrimsher, and Andrew Sneed.
