Dinah Gail (Behel) Thigpen

Dinah Gail Behel Thigpen, 75, of Florence, passed away May 26, 2018. She was a member of Petersville Church of Christ; a graduate of Mars Hill Bible School and Larimore Business College. She was employed with Attorney Herman Ross, GF Wilson Wholesale as an accountant, and Southern Sash the Florence store as an accountant; Union Carbide Credit Union as a manager till closing then they merged with Listerhill Credit Union; employed in the Personnel Department of Union Carbide; Ford Credit Union until closing of the Ford Plant in Sheffield, AL; assisted in Merger with Alabama Central Credit Union; was employed with Railway Credit Union until retirement; and was a long-time Pre-K Sunday School teacher.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 11:30-2 p.m. at Petersville Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the church with Sonny Owens and Dr. Milton Sewell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Thigpen was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ruby Gist Behel.

She is survived by her husband, Alden P. Thigpen of Florence; brother, Jimmy Behel (Sally Anne) of Searcy, AR; nephews, Lee Thigpen (Kerry) of Chattanooga, TN, Chuck Thigpen (Rebecca) of Greenville, S.C., Alex Behel (Kerri) of Searcy, AR, and Benjamin Behel of Richardson, TX; and nieces, Jenny Leijen (Jon) of Brisbane, Australia; and Lauren Thigpen of Ashland City, TN.

Pallbearers will include: Lee Thigpen, Chuck Thigpen, Alex Behel, Benjamin Behel, Charles Watkins, and Donnie Bevis.

The Elders of Petersville Church of Christ, Roy Abston, and Larry Watkins will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
