Mrs. Clara Mae Balentine of Weatherford, Oklahoma, formerly of Florence, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Little Corn Heritage in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Cloverdale Church of Christ with burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Jack Flowers.
Clara was born August 21, 1932 to Clarence Edward Stutts and Ruby Hanback Stutts. She was born somewhere close to Pine Hill in Lauderdale County, Alabama. She has lived in Florence, Alabama, Memphis, Tennessee, Melvindale, Michigan, Iuka, Mississippi, Petersville, Alabama, Muscle Shoals, Alabama and Cloverdale. She lived entirely in the South except for the 2 to 3 years she lived in Michigan.
She is survived by her son, David Michael Robinson and his wife Jackie, of Weatherford, Oklahoma; her daughter, Robbie Jean Robinson of Hernando, Mississippi; one brother, Grady Stutts, two sisters, Margret Lovelace and Louise Burbank; eleven step-children, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-four great- grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by 2 husbands, Marvin Floyd Robinson and Floyd Titus Balentine; two children, Judy Annette Robinson, Lea Oma Balentine, her mother, Ruby and her dad, Clarence; two brothers, Edward Stutts and Wayne Stutts; and one sister, Mary Burbank.
She loved to cook, sew, quilt, garden, and attend church. She lived in her home till December 22, 2017, when she went to live with Robbie for a little over a week, then to live with Mike and Jackie in Weatherford, OK where she lived until her death.
Pallbearers will be Glen Richie, Dwight Bogus, Jonathan Bogus, Larry Kelly, Charles Condrey, and Bill Hendrix.
