Charles Ray Benson, Sr.

Charles Ray Benson, Sr., 74, of Florence, passed away on April 27, 2019 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2019. The funeral service will be on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 12 Noon  in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Rod Stansky officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Juanita Benson; and his wife, Freida Benson.

Survivors include his sons, Charles Benson, Jr. (Sebrina) and Jeremy Benson (Jenny); daughters, Alina McBrayer (Lloyd) and Shawna Dickerson (Chris); brothers, James Robert Benson (Betty) and Jackie Benson (Polly); sister, Sandra Handschumacher; grandchildren, Mac Seamons, Chassity Staggs, Raylee Dickerson, Reagan Dickerson and Landyn Benson; great-grandchildren, Austin Seamons, Eli Bracey, Eli Staggs, Mason Staggs, Willa Seamons, MaeLee Staggs, Toni-Nicole  Brewer and Diesel Smith; and his loving dog and companion, Rowdy.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rusty DePoyster, Jason Jackson, Darryl Nelson, Mac Seamons, Charles McBrayer, Brian Brewer and Alex White.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Austin Seamons and Landyn Benson.
