Cecil Moore Sharp

Cecil Moore Sharp, 75, of Florence, passed away at his residence on April 6, 2018. Cecil grew up in the Central Heights community where he attended Central High School and Glendale church of Christ. He then served in the National Guard Reserves and became service manager for Campbell Motors in Florence. Cecil worked as a machine repairman, UAW member, retired from Ford Motor in Sheffield and Chrysler Huntsville Electronics. He was a devoted father, husband, and loving grandfather who cherished his two grandsons. He enjoyed working on and trading tractors and farm equipment, going to auctions, and drinking coffee every morning with his friends. Cecil enjoyed watching Alabama football and NASCAR. He would spend many hours helping his neighbors and friends. He would be seen most every day on a tractor or lawnmower.

Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2018 from 10-12 Noon at Greenview Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service following at 12 Noon in Greenview Memorial Park with Joel Caudle officiating.

Mr. Sharp was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Carrie Sharp; wife, Mary Etta Witt; brothers, Clarence, Lloyd, Clyde, and Robert Sharp.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Daniel (Chris); son, Jeff Sharp; grandsons, Dylan and Devan Sharp; sister, Pearl May; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Scott Puckett, Steve Daniel, George Riddle, Jody Cypert, Charles Clanton, and Ben Siegel. Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Brown, W.J. Hall, Gary Addison, and Harry Austin.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice of the Shoals. And special thanks to Sybil Barton and Martha Riddle for their many hours of care.
