Bonnie Garner McKinney

Bonnie Garner McKinney, 68, of Florence, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 21, 2018 from Noon to 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chad Hess officiating.  Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.

Ms. McKinney was a native of Colbert County and a long-time resident of Florence. She was a loving and devoted Christian, mother and grandmother and commonly referred to as Nana. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church of Florence.

Ms. McKinney was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Edna Garner, and four siblings.

She is survived by her sons, Christopher McKinney (Michele) of Florence and Lee McKinney Brooks (Elizabeth) of Virginia; grandchildren, Autumn McKinney Brooks, Alexis McKinney, Tori McKinney Brooks, Chase McKinney, Macey McKinney, Ethan McKinney, Grayson McKinney Brooks, and Will McKinney, the father and step-father of Christopher McKinney and Lee McKinney Brooks.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher McKinney, Lee McKinney Brooks, Chase McKinney, Chris Willis, Kameron Olive, and Blake Barnes.

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff and nurses at Amedisys Hospice with special thanks to Dawn, Kristen, and Michelle. Also special thanks to the Olive family. 

Special thanks goes to her daughter-in-law, Michele McKinney for taking care of and being there for her.
