Barbara Mae (Lard) Shook

Barbara Mae Lard Shook, 84, of Florence, passed away on August 09, 2017 at her residence. She was a member of Underwood Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be in Greenview Memorial Chapel on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Donnie McDaniel and Brother Glen Murks officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kennon Shook; parents, Earl and Winnie Lard; sister, Earline Threet; brothers, John “Boots” Lard , Glen “Pete” Lard, Bobby Joe Lard and Billie Lard.

Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Murks (Glen) of Florence, Carolyn McCullough of Florence, Judy Dowdy (Greg) of Waterloo; son, Kennon Shook, Jr. (Laura) of Florence; ; brother, Jack Lard of Florence; grandchildren, Kendra Cooper, Misty Fedak (A.J.), Summer Dowdy, Jamin Dowdy, Caleb Shook (Jordan), Jacob Shook, Kenlee Shook and Katherine Shook; great-grandchildren, Noah and Rhyley Cooper, Aubree Shook, Bensen and Ridge Shook and Ike and Max Fedak; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Tommy Ray, John Lard, Jr., Kenneth Gean, Gary Faires, Danny Wylie and Brad Lard.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Cloyd Lindsey, Levon Trousdale, Charles Dowdy, Thomas Ray, William Brewer, and Roy Strube.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the Hospice of the Shoals especially Tiffany Romine, and caregivers, Teresa Lowe, Kay Powell, Stephanie Britnell, Janice Saint, Ashley Grant, and Vanessa McDonald.
