Barbara Jo (Scott) Kizer

Barbara Jo Scott Kizer was born to Lawrence and Josie Scott on March 22, 1948 in Florence, AL. She was married to the love of her life Thomas Milton Kizer on March 9th, 1969, and in their life together she enjoyed gardening, baking, wrangling their grandchildren, and teaching her family how to love. Mrs. Barbara Kizer departed this life surrounded by the love of her family on April 23, 2019.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2019. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother David Byrd and Doug Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her infant sisters, Carolyn and Laura.

She is survived by her husband, Tommy Kizer of Florence; daughters, Sheli Daniel (Grant) of Collinwood, TN, and Emily Berry (Shane) of Florence; brother, Johnnie Scott (Liz) of Rosenberg, TX and sister, Deborah Williams (Billy) of Florence; sister-in-law, Sara Kizer of Athens, AL; brother-in-law, David Kizer (Nancy) of Arab, AL; step-mother-in-law, Annette Kizer; grandchildren, Matthew Daniel (Elizabeth), Clayton Michelle Daniel, Ashley Killion, and Hallie Griffin (Kyle); great-grandchildren, Scarlet Lily Griffin and Nadiya Jo Daniel arriving in May.  She is also survived by special family and friends including loving nieces and nephews, caring extended family, Sue Gibbs (Jerry), and her rambunctious Sunday School Class from Underwood Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Davis, Adam Underwood, Brad Casey, Braxton Cain, Albert Stoltz and Marty Cain.

Special thanks to Dr. Robert Bailey and Florence Nursing and Rehab especially Thomas, Jeanie, Pam, Mae, Karen, Lauren and Sydney.
