William Norvell Womelsodorf, IV

September 24, 1989 ~ March 25, 2018 (age 28)

William Norvell Womelsdorf, IV, “Will”, 28, loved nature and the outdoors, being in the woods and walking barefoot in any creek that he happened across. From an early age, he had a great appreciation for nature.

Will was happiest when he was with his family and friends, fishing, playing with his dogs Remy and Layla, driving his truck, listening to music and working on any welding or art project with his hands. He was known to be fiercely loyal and a protector of those he loved, especially his younger brother, Matthew Lee Womelsdorf. He loved Matt with all of his heart. Although his time on earth was short, they managed to create so many memories and plenty of mischief.

Will was quick to offer a helping hand to friends and strangers alike. No matter how large or small the task, he committed to it fully and executed with excellence. He was an old soul who appreciated simplicity and peace.

In his short time on earth, Will touched many lives and will always be remembered as a loving son, brother and loyal friend. Will received eternal peace on Sunday, March 25th. He is survived by his mother Stacy Martin (Philip Donovan) and father William N. Womelsdorf, III, (Donna), step sisters Anna and Katie, brother Matthew Lee Womelsdorf, grandparents Mark and Jeanette Custer and Billy and Ann Womelsdorf, aunt Melissa Jayne Calandro (Christopher) and cousins Hannah Jayne Costantino (John) and Hunter Jayne. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Jerome Calvin Martin.

Will’s family will receive friends on Thursday, March 29th from 10:00-11:00 am at the First United Methodist Church, Florence, Alabama. A memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Will’s memory may be made to Streetdog Foundation, www.streetdogfoundation.com.
