Thomas Albert “Tom” Whitfield, 80, of Florence, passed away December 2, 2016 at E.C.M. Hospital. He was a member of IBEW Local #558 for 55 years and past President; and also, past President of IBEW Retirees.
Visitation will be Monday, December 5, 2016 from 11-1p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Donnie McDaniel and Rev. Doug Farris officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Don McMeans.
Mr. Whitfield was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. and Catherine Stevenson Whitfield.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilson Whitfield; daughters, Melonie Hanson, Veronica Bowman, Toni Ray, and Amanda Perry; step-daughters, Kathryn Moore, and Gerry Bernard; step-son, Michael Karpin; and many grandchildren.
