Shirley McCorkle Canaday, 81, passed away on December 17 at ECM hospital. Shirley was a member of Underwood Baptist Church and was retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Memphis, Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Canaday; brother-in-law, Jerry Herston; nephews, DeWayne Youngblood (Jenny) of Florence, Mike Youngblood (Jeanne) of Decatur, Ricky Williams (nephew by marriage) of Killen; a host of great nieces and nephews; and her little buddy, River Canaday.
She was predeceased by her parents William and Tina Benefield; sister, Juanita Herston; niece, Melinda Youngblood Williams; husbands, Charles McCorkle and Clyde Orr.
Visitation will be held on December 19, 2017 from 12-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev. Donnie McDaniel officiating.
