Sarah Ann (Moore) Jackson

January 18, 1931 ~ July 25, 2016 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Sarah Ann Moore Jackson, 85, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016.  Born on January 18, 1931, in Valley Head, Alabama, she was a 1949 graduate of Coffee High School in Florence.  She went to work for Southern Bell Telephone Company, retiring in 1982.  She loved working in her yard and garden, and would often labor until late in the evening, working under the street light.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Glenn Jackson, Sr.; her parents, Durward Alston Moore, Sr. and Jessie Hall Moore; a brother, Durward Alston Moore, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Katherine Moore Wiggins.

She is survived by her four sons:  Joe (Judy), Jim (Shelia), Jon (Belinda), and Jay Jackson; seven grandchildren:  Joey Jackson, Jamie Scroggins (Joshua), Jessica Thompson (Jeremy), JD Jackson (Samantha), Joy Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, and Jenny Jackson; nine great grandchildren:  Julie and Maddox Jackson; Sarah, Ethan, and Jude Scroggins; Rubianne, Rebecca, and Lura Thompson; Skyla Jackson; and nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Green Oaks Inn and the family of Gregg and Leanne Scott for the loving care provided to our mother during her last few years.  In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial gift for Alzheimer’s research at www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp.

Visitation will be from 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Thursday evening at Greenview Funeral Home.  A private burial (for family only) will be held the following morning.

 Pallbearers are grandsons and grandsons-in-law:  Joey Jackson, JD Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Joshua Scroggins, and Jeremy Thompson.  Honorary pallbearer is her grand-dog, Diogee
