Rhoda Leona Jackson

   Mrs. Rhoda Leona (Leigh) Jackson, 88 of Florence went to her heavenly home on Friday, September 18, 2015. She was a native of Lauderdale County and a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church.

   Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

   Mrs. Jackson is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Rhoda Watkins Davis, husbands, Foster Young and Dr. J. Wesley Jackson, son, Roy Young Sr., grandson, Roy Young Jr.

   She is survived by two daughters, Joan Willis and husband Tom, Ginger Millsaps and husband Chip, two sons, John Young and Richard Young and wife Susan all of Muscle Shoals, two sisters, Lucille Gamble of Iron City, TN. and Frankie Roberson of Florence. Grandchildren, Stacy Nichols, Craig and Tony Young, Allen Millsaps, Deanna Gray, Chad Young, Tyler and Anna Young, Matt Bailey, Rachel Millsaps, Hannah Young and Chelsea Young. Step grandchildren, Chasity Farris and Clint Kirchner, 17 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

   Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

   In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s  Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300, Memphis, TN. 38148-0552 or to a charity of your choice.

   Our mother could have achieved any goal in life that she desired. She was beautiful, talented, and intelligent. But she chose her children over all else except for God. Her faith in God was constant throughout her life and was passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

   Mother’s sacrifices for her children were only surpassed by her love and devotion to their well-being. She was beautiful inside and out and everyone that knew her loved her. She will be dearly missed and forever loved.
