Pauline Hill Hillis, 97, of Florence, passed away February 25, 2017, at E.C.M. Hospital. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church; Pilot Club; Extension Club; Lifewise; retired from TVA; volunteered at E.C.M. Hospital; American Cancer Society; and Police Department; member of VFW and American Legion; and numerous others;. And she was a 1938 graduate of Coffee High School.
Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Woodmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Moore and the Rev. Jerry Rea officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hillis was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Estella Wilkes Hill; siblings, Earl Hill, William Hill, Charles Hill, J.T. Hill, Freeda Jones, and Roslyn Bradford; great-granddaughter, Amelia Hillis, and a daughter-in-law, Ann Hillis.
She is survived by her sons, Preston Hillis (Kaye), and Mike Hillis; daughter, Frances Moore (Mike) all of Florence; grandchildren, Melissa Lyle, Dennis and Jason Moore, Patrick, Jamie, and Robbie Hillis, and Brianna Maharrey; great-grandchildren, Anna Lyle, Megan Moore, Caeley Moore, Mary Kate Hillis, Laney Moore, Mac Hillis, Ben Hillis, Lydia Hillis, and Cooper and Parker Maharrey.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Moore, Patrick Hillis, Jamie Hillis, Robbie Hillis, Trey Maharrey, Mac Hillis, and Ben Hillis.
Matthew 25:21: His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Public Library or Woodmont Baptist Church Prayer Garden.
