Olene Davis (Simmons) Brewer

Olene Simmons Davis Brewer, age 89 of Florence, passed away November 17, 2014 at Glenwood Nursing Home. Mrs. Brewer was a native of Humphreys County, Tennessee, living in Florence, Alabama since 1995. She was retired from Reynolds Metals Company and a member of Underwood Baptist Church.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 12 Noon in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brothers Donnie McDaniel, Jerry Phillips, and John Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Brewer was preceded in death by her husbands, Jewette Davis and Harry Brewer; step-daughter, Patsy Thomas, infant son, Donovan Davis.

She is survived by her stepchildren, Michael Brewer (Regina), Stephen Brewer of Florence, Ronnie Brewer (Brenda) of Covington, Texas; brother, Robert Simmons of Nashville, Tennessee; sister, Ruby Vaden of Madison, Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she was especially loved by her grandkids, Chris, Jason, Ashley, Allison, Becky, and Jennifer for whom she had such joy watching grow up.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the building fund of Underwood Baptist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
