Sue so sorry to hear about the lose of your mom. I did see you dad passed away not long ago too. They were substitute parents for me through high school and college and I appreciate all those years they housed me as well as all those Sub Deb "spends" and left over donuts! I know you will miss them but have many years of memories to carry forward and your children had time to know them. Many prayers and thoughts to you, Linda and Barbie and your families!

Norma Ferguson was instrumental in developing a one-of-a-kind nursing program at Northwest Alabama State Junior College (now Northwest Shoals Community College) in Phil Campbell, Alabama. Her innovative program supported the concept that Registered Nursing education could build on the previous knowledge and experience of Licensed Practical Nursing. Her foresight lead to an expansion of the profession that has now become common place in today's world of nursing education. No longer do nurses have to start their education over completely, if she or he wishes to advance in degrees. I salute you, Norma. I learned much from you and became a better teacher through your leadership. May you rest in peace.

Norma was a warm, compassionate woman whose personal kindness to me @ UNA left an indelible mark on me both as an rn & a fellow human being. Heartfelt sympathy to her family

So sad to hear of Mrs.Ferguson's passing. She was the best OB instructor ever. I was a student in her program at NW in 1976, as a young nursing student she made an impact on me that continues today. She spirit and passion for nursing inspired so many of us. I pray that her legacy lives on in all of her family and her former students. Rest In Peace sweet lady, you were one of a kind. Thank you for your sacrifices.

Sue and family,
Norma was an amazing woman who we admired. I am sorry that we will not be with you during this time, but we have grandparent babysitting duty in Baton Rouge. Our love and prayers are with you.
