Michael Eric Torstrick, age 44, of Louisville, KY, passed away Thursday April 21, 2016. Michael was born in Florence, AL, and then made Louisville, KY his home until his death. Michael was a 1994 Auburn University graduate and loved the Auburn Tigers. He held jobs in a variety of engineering fields. Michael was an avid sports fan, especially college football and basketball.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Greenview Funeral Home with a celebration of Michael’s life beginning at 4 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Entombment of cremains will follow in Greenview Memorial Park Love Mausoleum.
Michael enjoyed sharing life with his family and friends. He traveled regularly with friends to many adventurous places around the world. Everyone who knew him will cherish his memory, his witty sense of humor, the way he could light up a room and his intelligence of daily facts and sports trivia will be remembered. He was thoughtful in every kind of a way and always ready with a smile.
Michael was predeceased by his mother, Joyce Tidmore Torstrick and his grandparents, Carroll L. and Louise S. Torstrick of Louisville, KY and Robert G. and Julia M. Tidmore of Arab, AL, and step-grandmother Elizabeth Jane “Libby” Malone, Tuscumbia, AL with whom he had developed a strong bond.
He is survived by his father, Robert L. Torstrick (Faye) of Florence, AL; brother, David R. Torstrick (Sherri) of Louisville, KY; and step-brother, Michael Cooper (Jenelle) of Hollywood, MD, nieces and nephews, Sarah, Jodie, Ethan, Cole, Noah and Evelyn. Aunts and Uncles, Bryce and Bea Tidmore, Tuscumbia, AL, Richard Torstrick and Mary Ann Williams, Bloomington, IN, Charles and Beth Torstrick and Connie and Earl Esten of Louisville, KY and numerous cousins.
