Mary Elizabeth Butler, 93, of Florence passed away on November 27, 2015 at El Reposo Nursing Home. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ. She retired from Wilson High School as a custodian.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 30, 2015 at Mt. Zion Church of Christ from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. also at Mt. Zion Church of Christ with Matt Heupel and Sonny Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Butler; parents, Albert and Ollie Heupel; brothers, Edgar, Clifford, Eugene, Phillip and Joseph Heupel and one sister, Velma Heupel Watkins.
Survivors include her daughter, Myra Faye Gray (Fred); sister, Nellie Crittenden; grandchildren, Jill Larkin (Mike), Contessa Gooch (Bradley); great-grandchildren, Olivia and Michael Larkin and Maria and Sidney Gooch.
Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews, Donald Heupel, Billy Heupel, Larry Wear, Gary Wear, Ralph Watkins and Lee Watkins.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the facility and staff of El Reposo Nursing Home. The extra acts of kindness will always be greatly appreciated.
