Martha Louise Austin, August 8, 1934, passed from this life at the age of 82, on June 29, 2017. She was a member of Oakland Church of Christ and a lifelong resident of Lauderdale County.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Rickey Collum and Chris Moran officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Chapel Cemetery, Cherokee, AL.
Martha was preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Austin; father, Pad J. Richards; mother, Rosa Mae Richards; and brother Millard Richards.
Survivors include her son, Ronald J. Austin (Melody); daughter, Lisa Collum (Rickey); dear friends, Joan McFall and Bea Hanback; brother, Kenneth Richards; grandchildren, David Austin (Mackensey), Mandi Smith (Chad), Austin Collum (Cierra), Wesley Collum (Stephanie); and 5 great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will include: Shane Terry, Jonathan Richards, Wesley Collum, Austin Collum, David Austin, and Chad Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tallmage Austin, Joe Rhodes, Dale Richards, and Bobby Irons.
Special thanks to her family at Keestone Assisted Living, Amedisys Home Health, North Alabama Hospice of the Shoals, Dr. Kallieth’s office, especially Alicia, Dr. Danny McFall, Dr. Rhuland, Dr. Dobbs, and ECM’s 3rd, 5th, and 6th floor nursing staff, and The Summit Rehabilitation services at Mitchell Hollingsworth.
