Marjorie S. (Stewart) Jobe

Mrs. Marjorie Stewart Jobe, 93, of Florence, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017. Marjorie was sustained by her strong faith in God, her love of family, and her love of working with the earth. She was at her happiest when doing for others, gathering with family, or working in her flower and vegetable gardens.

Marjorie was raised in Zip City, and attended Wilson and Rogers High School, and later was a graduate of Central High School. After graduation she began her working career in Detroit, MI and from there she moved to Oak Ridge, TN to support the war effort and became part of the Greatest Generation. Following the war she moved to Corinth, MS and opened her own business. There she met and married Jerry L. Jobe, her husband of fifty years. During her married life she was employed by Olan Mills and then K-Mart for thirteen years.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Charles Kretzer, Sonny Owens, and Austin Swinea officiating.

Mrs. Jobe was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Jobe; parents, William Joseph and Mamie Jo Beasley Stewart; brothers, W.J. Stewart (Essie), and E.B. Stewart (Mary); and sister, Wylodine Stewart Curtis and her two husbands Pat and Robert Fondren.

She is survived by her daughters, Angeline Gail Johnson, and Jerrilyn Sue Eddy; and a very dear son-in-law, Don Johnson; grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Megan), Justin Johnson (Keren), Brandy Churchwell (Chris), Austin Nichols, Donie Johnson (LeeAnn), Jennifer Johnson and Deidre Duker, Stevie Johnson, and Christie Kuropatwa (Adam); and great-grandchildren, Kellyn Churchwell, Samuel Churchwell,  AnnChristine Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Paxton Duker-Johnson, Lorelei and Estoria Kuropatwa.

Active pallbearers will include: Jeremy Johnson, Austin Nichols, Donie Johnson, Robin Curtis, Justin Johnson, Chris Churchwell, Don Johnson, Sr., and Cliff Thompson.

Jimbo Wilkinson and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
