Lyndel Keith “Pumpkin” Rhodes Florence, Alabama, 53 years old. He left this earth on January 31, 2018. Visitation will be held Friday, February 2nd 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Greenview Memorial, followed by a graveside service at Wilson Cemetery located at Rogers Chapel Church at 1:30 pm, with Terry Oakley officiating. He was preceded in death by grandparents’ Clay and Ollie Rhodes, James “Buddy” and Dorothy Garner. He is survived by his parents, Kenneth “Tuck” and Delores “Toots” Rhodes, sisters: Denise Ainsworth (Ralph) and Retha Rhodes, brother: Randal “Bucky” Rhodes (Carri Anne), nephews: Clay (A’ndrea) and Tucker, nieces: Callie, Cara, Carlie, Audrey (Luke), and Grace Anne, great-nephews: Brady and Cooper, great-nieces: Cayleigh and Cori, great-great nephew: Sawyer, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Pumpkin was a proud supporter and graduate of Wilson High School and the University of North Alabama where he served as head equipment manager of the football team. Pumpkin was a loving son, brother, and amazing uncle “Flash.” He dedicated his life to his family, friends and serving others. He was a devoted auctioneer and owner of Pumpkin Rhodes Auctions. He enjoyed coaching his favorite sport of baseball at Underwood Dixie Youth Complex for over 20 years, where he also served as a former president. Pumpkin will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Pallbearers will be Clay McCary, Tucker Rhodes, Tim Wilson, Chuck Rhodes, Ralph Ainsworth, Kevin Garner, Mark Bratcher, and Brett Black. Honorary pallbearers will be “Uncle” Jerry Warren, William Coffman, Coach Jay Stejskal, Pumpkin’s Auction Crew, UNA football managers, Florence Firefighters, and all former Underwood baseball players. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Stepping Stone Pediatric Therapy of Florence in honor of his great nephew, Cooper. The family would like to express sincere gratitude to ECM ER and CCU doctors and staff for their professionalism anddedication to care.
