Laura Jane Kennedy Phillips, 71, of Waterloo, passed away June 27, 2017. Jane had an exceptional zest for life with seemingly boundless energy for her church, craft projects, lawn care, hospitality, and especially her family. She laughed easily, and loved deeply. She was generous and kind, and to know her was to love her. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 10-12 p.m. at Cross Point Church of Christ. The funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. at the church with Wayne Gean officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Phillips; parents, Raymond and Willine Kennedy; sisters, Jerry Balentine, and Mary Kennedy.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Phillips (Anna); daughters, Rebecca Holliday (Terry), and Amanda Phillips; sister, Emilee Johnson; sister-in-law, Bobbie Lane Massengale (Dewayne); brother-in-law, Lendon Balentine (Linda); grandchildren, Kayleigh Kelley (Chris), Morgan Crunk, Clay Holliday, Taylor Holliday, Noah Phillips, and Luke Phillips; great-grandchild, Caden Kelley; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Hooie, Rusty Lambert, Will Lambert, Michael Burns, Greg Balentine, Mike Mitchell, Hal Phillips, and Don Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Massengale, Lendon Balentine, Russ Lambert and her grandsons.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mars Hill Bible School at 698 Cox Creek Parkway Florence, AL 35630.
