Mr. Karl Wesson Potts, 90, a native of Waterloo, Ala. and a resident of Florence, Ala., passed away on August 15, 2016 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, retired as an engineer from TVA, an avid boater, a Lions Club member and he was devoted to his family.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Greenview Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Scott Coates officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Valera Potts and his parents, Cary and Lutie Potts.
Survivors include his sons, Karl Potts, Jr. (Brenda) of Birmingham, Ala. and David Potts of San Diego, CA; daughter, Frances Walker (Butch) of Fayetteville, GA; grandchildren, Adrienne Hill, Jack Walker, Ashley Moore, Rebekah Nash and Stephen Potts; great-grandchildren, Porter Hill, Adeline and Anna Grace Moore, Jackson and Lidia Walker and Miller Moore.
Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Potts, Jack Walker, Sam Copeland, Will Copeland, Chuck Porter and John Potts.
The members of Jack’s Breakfast Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend many special thanks to Eldercare and especially to Janet Forsythe who will always be a part of our family.
