John Albert Bailey, Sr.

John Bailey, Sr., 84, of Toney, AL, passed away on November 12, 2017.  He was a member of Grace House Church. He served our nation as a member of the United States Army.

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 2-3:00 p.m. with the funeral service immediately following in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Pastor Gary Cosby and Pastor Doc Shell will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlo Otto Bailey and Jennie Bailey; infant sister, A.V. Bailey; sister, Irene Bailey Bonds and brothers, Perry O’Neal Bailey, Sammie Bailey, Tommy Bailey and Doyal Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Lewis Bailey; sons, Jeremy D.Bailey (Suzanna) of Harvest, AL and Jason M. Bailey (Tiffany) of Athens, AL; step-son, Tim Adams (Linda) of Idaho; daughter, Sara B. Cagle (Jeremy) of Double Springs, AL;  children from a previous marriage ,son, John Jr. (Carol) and daughters, Tammy and Terry; sisters, Yvonne Williams, Mavis Davis, Barbara Elkins and Faye Hayes; grandchildren, Claire, Hannah, Seth, Luke, Meg and Caleb Bailey, Bekah Grace, John David and Rachel Bailey, Emma, Elaina, Ella and Olivia Cagle, Megan Robinson, Travis Cox (Nina) and Jace Cox and great-grandchildren, Silas, Allison and Fey Cox and Kurt and Max Bowlin.

Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Turner, Eddie Bonds, Bart Lindsey, Tony Cagle, Mark Butler, and Jeremy Cagle.

Serving as an honorary pallbearer will be Jim Ford.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Kindred Hospice in Florence, AL and Huntsville, AL and especially Nurse Marlo Turley.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
