Helen June Warren Skartwed, 85, of Florence, passed away June 4, 2017 at Helen Keller Hospital. Mom was a member of the First Baptist Church of Florence, and a retired LPN of Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing and Rehabilitation Center with 17 years of service on the 11-7 shift. Mom loved life, made each of us smile, and loved to laugh; she will be missed. Mom’s legacy will live not only in the hearts of her children but also grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mom was loved by all who knew her.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, June 6, 2017 from 12-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Kevin Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Skartwed was preceded in death by her dad, Cecil Warren; mother, Lonie Looney; and her second mother and dad who raised her, Uncle Clint and Aunt Onie Wallace in Pontotoc, MS, in God’s country; cousin, Janie Comer; and several aunts, uncles, and grandparents.
She is survived by her sons, David Skartwed (Toni) of Fort Worth, TX, Kyle Skartwed (Rebecca) of Albuquerque, NM; daughters, Jody Hunt (Rory) of Florence, Tracy Soler of Florence, and Cindy Lipford of Dallas, TX.; grandchildren, Leah Marie Garcia (Brad), Raven Hunt (Grant), Leah Hunt McGee (Jason), Ry Hunt, Stephanie Soler (Hunter), Michael Soler, Matthew Soler, Christina Soler, Magen Lipford Ellis (JT), Amanda Lipford (Clayton), Allison Lipford, Rachel Lipford, Ferrin Skartwed, Daniel Skartwed (Kayla), and Caeton Skartwed; and great-grandchildren, Carter Soler, Willow June McGee, Honor Ellis, Lilieana Lipford, Saffron Soler, Danzig Ellis, Jocelyn Soler, and one due in September; cousins, James Robert Hubbard and Bonnie McIntryre; and special, niece Millinean Mansell.
Active pallbearers will be: Ry Hunt, Michael Soler, Matthew Soler, Jason McGee, Kevin Francis, and Tyler Mansell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Skartwed, Larry Lawson, Floyd Russel, Dickie Gray, and Carter Soler.
