Helen Broadfoot Lazenby

Helen Broadfoot Lazenby, 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2015. She loved her family with all of her heart and was a faithful member of Highland Baptist Church.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Helen Lazenby will be held at Highland Baptist Church on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 3:00 p.m.  The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1- 3 p.m. in the Worship Center. Dr. John Brock and Rev. Chris Underwood will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl Danford “Dank” Lazenby; mother, Ruth Bratcher Patterson; father, Marvin Bratcher; brother, Gene Bratcher and sister-in-law, Janie Bratcher.

She is survived by three children, Patricia L. Stone (Billy) of Huntsville, Danny Lazenby (Judy) of Birmingham and Sheila L. Marshall (Mike) of Florence; four grandchildren, Larry and Jody Upton of Huntsville, Reid Marshall (Stephanie) and Karen Marshall Barrow (Travis) both of Birmingham, great- grandchildren, Jordan and Taylor Upton, William Danford Marshall, Baby Barrow in two weeks; sister- in-law, Betty Lazenby.

Active pallbearers will be Brad Bratcher, Sammy Broadfoot, John Dupree, Truman Richardson, David Schneider and Chuck Tompkins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Broadfoot, Hiram Dupree and Dr. Danny McFall.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Columbia Cottage for their loving care, ECM Palliative Care Nurses, Dr. Webb and Dr. Danny McFall and Regina whom she loved like family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Highland Baptist Church Building Fund or the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.
