Gail Gilbert Hite, 74, passed away September 14, 2017. A memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 16th, 11 a.m at Greenview Funeral Home.
Ms. Hite was born and raised in Florence and graduated from Coffee High School. A lover of music and art, Ms. Hite cherished her loyal friends, who loved her well through the years.
Ms. Hite was a real estate professional and proud former partner in Clement Realty, where she enjoyed success with longtime associates.
Her happiest times were spent on Shoal Creek, and she was quite a water skier in her day. She was an avid and sometimes rabid fan of the Auburn Tigers and Elvis.
Ms. Hite is preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Gradene Gilbert, and her brother, Barry Gilbert. She is survived by her sisters, Ginny Curtis (Don) of Killen, and Julie Knudson (Dewey) of Virginia, and sister-in-law Carolyn Adams Gilbert, of Killen, along with two beloved nieces, Michele Curtis, and Kristin Storie (Alan), one great niece and two great nephews.
She was a loving mother to her sons, Sid Hite III (Linda) of Atlanta, GA, Kevin Hite (Elzeline) of Radford, VA, and Brian Hite (Ruthie) of Columbus, GA. She was extremely proud of her grandchildren, Dennis Jarrard (Melissa), Forrest Hite, and Abbey Lee Orr (Paul), and two precious great-granddaughters.
