Ford Malcolm Brown

Mr. Ford Malcolm Brown, 90, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2014 at his residence. Mr. Brown was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Florence, and a veteran of WW II, Pacific theater of operations, and the Korean War having served in the Marine Corp.  He was a retired sales representative for the fashion industry.

Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2014 from 12 – 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Wayne Hicks. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bertha Brown; brothers, Marion Samuel Brown and Vernon Roy Brown; sisters, Faye Brown McCulloch and Lucille Brown Sheats; nephews, Rodney McCulloch and Mike Sheats.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Gloria Peters Brown; son, Steven Ford Brown of Boston, MA; daughter, Stephanie Brown Jacobson of Palm Bay, Florida; sister, Nolene E. Brown of Decatur; niece, Belinda McCulloch Lavender of Decatur; great-nephew, Justin Martin of Seattle, Washington.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to either the Hospice of the Shoals or the Sheppard’s Table of the First United Methodist Church of Florence in Mr. Brown’s name.
