Emanola Hipps Foxx

Emanola Hipps Foxx, age 88, of Florence, Alabama, passed away on April 27, 2016 after an extended illness.  She was a resident of Lauderdale County and a lifelong member of Rogers Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked as a legal secretary for many years and then she went to work for TVA Power Service Shop from which she retired.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  at Greenview Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Brother Clinton Busler and Brother Ralph Mann officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mary Hipps; husband, R.C. Foxx; brothers, Clifford Hipps, Earl Hipps, William Hipps and Neal Hipps and her sisters, Gertie Givens, Earline Arnold and Clora Fowler.

Survivors include her daughters, Dianne Forsythe (Danny) of Florence and Marilyn McCormick (Rickey) of Spicewood, Texas; sister, Virginia Wright of Florence; sisters-in-law, Jean Hipps and Betty Hipps both of Florence; grandchildren, Damien (Kim) Forsythe of Florence, Devin (Kim) Forsythe of Leesville, LA, Jay (Nikki) McCormick of Austin, Texas and Heidi (Matt) Wittie  of Hutto, Texas and two great granddaughters, Valerie and Kaylee Forsythe.

Pallbearers include Damien Forsythe, Steve Fowler, Mike Hipps, Bradley Hipps, Rickey McCormick and Danny Forsythe.

Honorary pallbearers include Devin Forsythe, Jay McCormick, David Hipps and Robert Hipps.

The family would like to thank Merrill Gardens and Mitchell Hollingsworth Station 2 for everything to make her final years good ones.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the American Heart Association.
