Earl C. Ellis, 93, of Florence, passed away January 17, 2017. He was a member of Underwood Baptist Church, IBEW #558 for 65 years, and a WWII US Navy veteran having served in the Pacific Theater.
Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2017 from 10-11 a.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Donnie McDaniel and Bro. Chad Ellis officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Benson Ellis; brother, Bruce Ellis, Jr.; sister, Marie Ellis Myrick; and his parents, Walter and Della Ellis.
He is survived by his son, Ronald D. Ellis (Pam); brother, Robert Ellis of New Jersey; grandchildren, Chad Ellis (Sheri), and Justin Ellis; and great-grandchildren, Maddie Ellis and Timothy Ellis.
Active pallbearers will include: Jerry Phillips, Sidney Ellis, Johnny Ellis, Roger Jackson, Justin Ellis, Sam Landrum, and Jimmy Mansell.
Ray Landrum, Ray White, and David White will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Lyman Mitchell and Hospice of the Tennessee Valley for their kind care of our loved one. And with special love and thanks to Drusill Ross, Susan King, Kenny King, Megan Noah, and Jasmine Terry for their love and devotion, along with wonderful care of our Dad will always be in our hearts.
